Directions

From North (Washington DC) (From Washington DC we are approximately 3 1/2 hours drive--depending on traffic)

Take I-95 to Richmond. At the junction with I-64 take I-64 East towards Norfolk/Virginia Beach.  Take exit 220 to West Point.  Follow the signs to and through West Point 13 miles.  At the first traffic light after the last bridge, go straight across --this turns into Hwy 198.   Follow 198 toward Mathews to the junction with Hwy 223 (towards Gwynn's Island, the Coast Guard station--there is a Zooms gas station at this corner)--Turn Left and take 223 across the bridge and follow Old Ferry Road all the way until just before it ends at the Bay.  Turn Right onto Buckschase Road.  The campground entrance and office is approximately 3/4 of a mile on the Left.  Stop in at the office to check in.

From East (Richmond)  (From Richmond, we are approximately 1 1/2 hours drive--depending on traffic)

From South (Virginia Beach) (From Virginia Beach, we are approximately 2 1/2 hours drive--depending on traffic)

Take I-64 West towards Richmond until you get to the Fort Eustis exit.  Take Fort Eustis Blvd away from the Fort until you get to Hwy 17.  Take Hwy 17 to Gloucester.  Take the Business 17 Exit (to the right) and stay in the right hand lane.  At the first stop light, turn Right onto Hwy 14. At the first T-intersection (Exxon station to the right), turn Left onto Hwy 198/14.  Take this to the junction with Hwy 223 (towards Gwynn's Island, the Coast Guard station--there is a Zooms gas station at this corner)--Turn right and take 223 across the bridge and follow Old Ferry Road all the way until just before it ends at the Bay.  Turn Right onto Buckschase Road.  The campground entrance and office is approximately 3/4 of a mile on the Left.  Stop in at the office to check in.
